Welsh-Italian Harvest Festival

Welsh-Italian Harvest Festival & Wine Festival With Joe Wadsack

22-23-24 September

“Free Food”

A time to enjoy all the wonderful fruits of autumn, from farm, woodland, orchard and vineyard. Some are cultivated, but there is much to forage

Tomatoes from Sunny Italy we are shipping pallets and will be turning them into “passata” – so we can all have the taste of the sun even in winter.

Our wonderful Salt Marsh & Spring Mountain Lamb is ready and we have some special ways to present this unique and most glorious meat.

We are after any fruits and vegetables, to buy in for our restaurant – whether from the garden or the wild. There is so much wonderful free food to gather: rowan berries, crab apples and, especially mushrooms. We want to buy them all!
Come round to the Theatre at the back of the Wynnstay and join the fun – maybe earn some extra cash – find out how to forage for moreBring in any mushrooms, we can identify those that are good to eat, and we can buy them – there are those, such as the “Penny Buns” or “Porcini” worth as much as good steak, free for the picking; also Chanterelles, Chicken of the Forest, Wood Blewits and many more.

Autumn is the time of the grape harvest but the wine is not yet ready, of course, we shall be showcasing some of our most interesting wines. There will be a five course dinner (smaller plates) each with its own glass of wine, and talks by Joe Wadsack, Master of Wine and good friend. This will include a glass of 2003 Amarone della Valpolicella – a chance to sample one of the world’s greatest wines.

Contact Wynnstay for details and bookings

Sunday Lunch will be our usual, more traditional but a chance to try some special wines by the glass.
